Christmas decorations
In the months leading up to Christmas, Innsbruck becomes a magical "winter wonderland" with markets popping up around the city, bringing seasonal Christmas cheer. Some unique items you can pick out include: tree hangers, puppet shows, snowballs, all of the animals are carefully crafted.
Tirolean Honey
Locally made honey, known by the German name Honig, you can get something golden from local beekeepers, such as the Saturday market in Wilton Square.
Doggln(Slippers)
Shoes are a must in many Austrian homes, especially when it's snowing outside. Doggln are traditional slippers made of felt and are the most common type in Innsbruck. You can find them in the market or shoe store near the city.
Tirolean Bacon
Tirolean bacon -- A ham seasoning rich in juniper berries, available at farmers' markets or country butchers. There, there are lots of stalls at the Friday market, where you can get a taste of this feature, and the farmers' market in Sparkassenplatz Square is also a big change. Some locals claim that the secret to making meat more perfect is in the smoking process. Since it is usually conveniently vacuum-packed, odorless transport is certainly not a problem.
gin
Hard liquor is perfect for warming up during the cold months. Innsbruck's Christmas market offers some home-made gin, or if you don't visit during the seasonal months, check out the Culinarium in the Old Town -- one of the city's biggest suppliers of Austrian fruity brandy, wine and a variety of delicacies.
cheese
Tirolean grey cheese, in fact, has an incredibly pungent smell, so make sure you wrap it before putting it on the plane. Traditionally served with vinegar, oil, Onions or soup, this is a bold tasting cheese created by Alpine farmers.
Sweet food
Tiroler Edle chocolate is a delicious dessert of the Tyrol region. It is a bittersweet chocolate filled with savory fillings such as walnuts, caramel or nougat. If you want to try candy too, try Arko Arch Herzog-Friedrich-Straße, which is best known in Innsbruck.
Swarovski Crystal
Located just outside Innsbruck, this peculiar haystack is the gateway to a dazzling underground museum with dazzling crystals, where you can pick up some glittery souvenirs. Founded in 1995, the "crystal world" has a collection of precious stones arranged in 16 rooms.
Snow globe
The alluring wholesale snow globes, which seem to be seen around the world, were originally created in Austria in 1900 by surgical instrument mechanic Perzy I.
